Product

The company's flagship product, Fizzik is a fusion of Web browser, multimedia player, and social media client. It’s a downloadable client application optimized for the experience of news, video and social media on the Web. Fizzik addresses the desire of today’s Web user to search a less repetitively, share more conveniently, and experience Web multimedia in a less cluttered environment.

The Fizzik beta was announced on 16 March 2010 during Microsoft’s MIX10 Web development conference in Las Vegas. The announcement of the Fizzik open beta program is forthcoming.

Fizzik was built using Microsoft .NET and Windows Presentation Foundation 3.5 and is compatible with most Windows operating systems. It embeds the Microsoft’s Internet Explorer for Web browsing, Adobe’s Flash player for video, and integrates with Bing, YouTube, Twitter, Gmail and Facebook to offer users a seamless multimedia sharing platform.

Services

Spry Hive’s service offerings revolve around the delivery of Rich Client Software utilizing Microsoft .NET and WPF and Rich Internet Applications leveraging Microsoft Silverlight. The team has extensive business and development experience with Information Worker, Gaming and 3D simulation software.

Leadership

Paul Scarpa, CEO & Co-founder: Paul leads Spry Hive's business development and product efforts after incubating international product, marketing and online distribution initiatives for Microsoft Office and Office Labs. He's spent over twelve years creating and evaluating software for Tribune Interactive, the Yankee Group, Sun Microsystems and early stage companies. He holds an MBA from the Haas School of Business at U.C. Berkeley and degrees in Computer Science and Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University.

Grant BlahaErath, CTO & Co-founder: Grant takes charge of Spry Hive's technology direction after having served as a Developer Evangelist at Microsoft, where he was responsible for strategic partnerships, custom tools development and operations for the company's Platform Adoption Center. Formerly Grant served as Chief Software Architect at The Learning Company/Broderbund, and shipped an impressive array of consumer software titles as a development manager at Electronic Arts and Autodesk.
